Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Lilies, published by Julien Montagne as an individual. Using the app means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
What Lilies is
A daily devotional: one reading a morning, made of a verse quoted from Scripture, a reflection, a short prayer and one small thing to do. It also gives you the whole Bible, seasons of thirty readings, a place for your own notes, and Ask.
What Lilies is not
It is not counselling, not medical or psychological care, and not a crisis service. Nothing in it is professional advice of any kind, and Ask is a piece of software rather than a pastor, a therapist or a doctor. Do not rely on it for a decision that needs one of those.
If you are in danger or thinking of ending your life, please stop reading this and contact emergency services. In the United States you can call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, at any hour.
The subscription
Lilies is a paid app with an auto-renewing subscription, sold through your Apple ID.
- $49.99 per year, offered with a 7-day free trial the first time you subscribe.
- $6.99 per week, charged from the day you take it.
Payment is taken by Apple when you confirm. The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before that moment. Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local store.
A free trial is offered once. If you have subscribed to Lilies before, the app says so on the subscription screen and charges you from the first day.
Cancelling is done with Apple, not with us: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Lilies → Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling during a trial before its last day means nothing is charged. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are Apple's to give, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
If the price changes, Apple asks you to agree before the next renewal, and the subscription stops rather than renewing if you do not.
Using Ask reasonably
Ask is there for questions about what you are reading and about the week you are having. Do not use it to attack anyone, to obtain unlawful content, or to try to make it produce something it is built to refuse. Its answers are generated and can be wrong; the verses it shows are read from a fixed copy of Scripture and are not.
Who owns what
The Scripture text is public domain: the World English Bible and the King James Version. The readings, reflections, prayers, illustrations, name and design of Lilies are ours, and your subscription is a personal licence to use them in the app rather than a transfer of anything. Do not copy or republish them.
What you write stays yours. Your notes and your journal are on your phone, we never receive them, and we claim no right over them. Cards you make from a verse are yours to send to whoever you like.
No warranty, and the limit of what we owe
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be free of faults, always available, or fit for a purpose you have in mind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here removes a right you have that cannot be removed.
Ending it
You may stop using Lilies at any time by cancelling and deleting the app. We may end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and a material change is said in the app before it applies.
Law
These terms are governed by French law, without preventing you from relying on the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
